In response to the publishing of the nonpartisan Legislative Audit Bureau review of the 2020 election, Common Sense Wisconsin Executive Director Joe Handrick issued the following statement:
“Today’s audit of the past election should create momentum to have uniform administration of elections across the state. It’s crucial that Wisconsin voters, regardless of partisan affiliation, have confidence that elections are administered correctly. Increased faith in the process will boost turnout. Legislation can be vetoed, however, and regulations can be ignored by a divided Elections Commission.
?If you want to circumvent Governor Evers’ repeated vetoes, neuter Madison election staff whims, and overcome slanted rulings from Dane County judges, amend the Wisconsin Constitution so all voters and all ballots are treated the same whether they are in Wauwatosa, Wausau or Wabeno.”
